ROLE: art direction / design / animation

Obscura worked with Youtube to produce their Brandcast event, this year at Radio City Music Hall. We put the theater's permanent projection system to good use, combining it with the massive LED screens and lighting to create an unforgettable experience. I had the pleasure of creating visuals for a performance by Dua Lipa for New Rules. It was loosely based off the direction of her music video, creating an immersive tropical oasis full of vibrant colors and psychedelic feels.

T H E V E N U E

Radio City Music Hall - The Venue of Radio City Music Hall is always fun to design for. There are a total of 10 coves that wrap the interior of the space which is used, alongside LED screens placed on the stage. The layout of the screens changes each year, offering different opportunities for any show that enters the venue. I used the Coves and the LED screens to play around a lot with pulsating color changes that washed over the audience, from the back of the screens to the front, as the LED screens in the front of the audience were taken down a sort of ride dancing flamingos and rainbow colored “roads”. Im heavily inspired by Lisa Frank, which i feel really shines in this piece as you watch it. its kind of like my childhood dream come alive in a venue.
